Carey Wilson played 10 years in the NHL with the Calgary Flames, Hartford Whalers, and New York Rangers from 1984-1994. He played in 552 regular season games amassing 169 goals and 258 assists for a total of 427 points.
Before turning pro, Carey won the Gold Medal with Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championships in 1982. He went on to play for Team Canada at the 1984 Winter Olympics under head coach Dave King.
Carey is a Science Graduate of Dartmouth College, an Ivy League school in the U.S. and takes pride in teaching kids the proper balance of sports with education. Carey uses his NHL and international experience to run a high intensity development program. Players are put through their paces with a focus on proper technique and teaching of all the fundamentals of hockey.
Particular attention is given to the specific developmental needs of each age level. Carey incorporates a smooth progression from a focus on individual fundamentals at the younger ages to high speed team tactics and checking skills at the older levels.
Carey grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He attended Viscount Alexander Middle School and Vincent Massey Collegiate while playing his minor hockey with the Twins and Monarchs … that was in the ‘70s.
Carey has returned to Winnipeg and now operates two separate hockey development programs; Carey Wilson Hockey and the Carey WIlson All Stars Developmental Program.
